Lena Meyer-Landrut wins Eurovision Song Contest 2010

The 19 year old girl Lena Meyer-Landrut from Hannover / Germany won the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo 2010. With her Song “Satellite”, Lena conquered the hearts of the Europeans and wins the title for Germany after 28 long years of waiting. Back in 1982, it was the singer Nicole with “Ein bißchen Frieden.” who won the Contest for the first time.

The Night in Oslo was something special

It was actually a great surprise that “Satellite” interpreted by the natural and beautiful Lena won with so many points ahead. Even countries like Switzerland or Turkey voted with 12 or 10 points respectively for Lena Meyer-Landrut, and everybody who watched the show on TV last night felt that it was something special.

In the times of a harsh European currency crisis, something like such a wonderful Eurovision Song Contest could help people forget a bit about their worries. “Satellite” from the Album “My Cassette Player” was able to unify the European hearts. The young lady is just graduating at the German Gymnasium and will experience a big impact to her life. Now, she is one of the most famous persons in Germany and she might be recognized by everybody in her home city of Hannover and even in many parts of Europe. Germans celebrated all night, and Oslo 2010 will be kept in the minds of people for a long time. That kind of fairy tale story is really rare, and during this weekend a wonderful development found its first climax.
